Teak Chaise
Relaxing by the pool, or simply catching a few rays on a lazy sunny afternoon, a teak chaise has got to be the height of luxury for just such an extravagance. A chaise lounge is not just a chair for lying on in the garden anymore, there’s now so many different options available that you could lie on a different chaise every day and still have some left over for next year.
Having said that, having a teak chaise in your garden has got to be akin to having a Rolls Royce on the drive – only a lot cheaper to run!
Depending on how you’re going to use your chaise, you can opt to have it on wheels, or with arm rests, or with a contoured back support, a drinks tray and even a foot rest. And then there’s the cushions and covers you can choose from.
The only thing you need to be aware of with teak is that as it ages it will naturally start to turn a silver grey in color. You can easily prevent this be regularly wiping over your chair with some teak oil preservative or natural beeswax. This will help maintain the natural beauty of the wood, and keep it looking just as good as you. I’d also recommend you get a cover for it as well to help protect it from the weather (including the sun’s ultra violet rays) when not in use.
If you’re familiar with teak chairs and furniture, you already know that a teak chaise is probably not going to be the cheapest option available – however, teak will last a lot longer than other woods used to make outdoor furniture, and probably look a lot better too.
Most chaise lounges are fully adjustable, going from a fully reclined horizontal position for full on sun bathing (or sleeping) to fully upright with adjustable back and leg rest for sitting and reading.
